Chemical Peels

Chemical peels are professional skin resurfacing treatments designed to improve concerns such as pigmentation, acne, uneven skin tone, texture and signs of ageing. At BV Aesthetics in Birmingham, we offer a range of peel options including AlumierMD Chemical Peels, Obagi Blue Peel Radiance and The Perfect Peel, allowing treatment to be tailored to your individual skin and concerns.

Chemical Peels at BV Aesthetics

Chemical peels use carefully selected acids and active ingredients to exfoliate and resurface the skin. Depending on the peel selected, treatment can help improve pigmentation, breakouts, uneven texture, dullness and visible signs of ageing.

At BV Aesthetics, your skin will be assessed before treatment so that the most appropriate peel can be selected for your skin type, concerns and treatment goals.

AlumierMD Chemical Peels

AlumierMD professional peels are customisable treatments that can be selected according to your individual skin needs. They can help improve concerns including dull or uneven skin, congestion, blemishes, pigmentation, fine lines and uneven texture. Different AlumierMD peel formulations are available, allowing the treatment to be tailored following your skin assessment. A course of treatments may be recommended depending on your concerns and desired outcome.

Obagi Blue Peel Radiance

Obagi Blue Peel Radiance is a salicylic acid-based chemical peel designed to exfoliate the skin and improve its overall tone and texture. It may be suitable for concerns including blemish-prone or congested skin, uneven skin tone, pigmentation, rough texture and signs of sun damage. The treatment has relatively minimal downtime for many patients, although temporary redness, dryness or light peeling may occur.

The Perfect Peel

The Perfect Peel is a medium-depth chemical peel containing a combination of active ingredients, including glutathione, TCA, retinoic acid, salicylic acid, kojic acid and vitamin C.

It is designed to improve concerns such as pigmentation, uneven skin tone and texture, acne and visible signs of ageing. Unlike our lighter peel options, visible peeling is expected following The Perfect Peel. Peeling typically begins a few days after treatment and gradually settles as the skin renews.

Which Chemical Peel Is Right for Me?

You don't need to decide which peel you need before your appointment. Your skin, medical history and individual concerns will be assessed and the most appropriate treatment recommended.

Some patients benefit from a single treatment, while others may be advised to have a course of peels or combine chemical peels with other skin treatments as part of a personalised treatment plan.

Downtime

Downtime varies considerably depending on the peel selected. Lighter peels may cause temporary redness, dryness or mild flaking, while deeper peels such as The Perfect Peel involve more noticeable peeling over several days.

Full preparation and aftercare advice will be provided as part of your treatment.
