We recently introduced a new treatment to our clinic, The Perfect Peel, known as the most comfortable medium-depth peel on the market.
The Perfect Peel is the UK’s first medium-depth, medical-grade chemical peel to blend glutathione with 5-acids, vitamin C and other skin-loving ingredients. Alone the ingredients are powerful, but in combination, they produce results that are astonishing.
The Perfect Peel tackles a variety of skin concerns, including fine lines and wrinkles, enlarged pores, acne and acne scarring, rosacea, sun damage and melasma. It is an inclusive peel that can be safely used across all Fitzpatrick scale types.
The peel requires no period of skin preparation, takes 15 minutes to apply, and after less than a week of downtime skin tone, texture and elasticity is visibly improved.
Glutathione - Glutathione is the ultimate antioxidant, penetrating deep into the cellular level of the skin to fight oxidant damage and is the anti-aging answer to premature wrinkling.
Kojic acid- a powerful lightning agent and proven to increase collagen and elastin production, resulting in skin that is brighter and tighter.
Trichloroacetic acid (TCA)- Stimulates collagen production and treats pigmentation issues
Retinoic acid- Vitamin A compound to increase cellular turnover
Salicylic acid- An oil-soluble BHA that goes deep into pores to remove oils and fight bacteria
Phenol- A highly effective treatment for acne scarring, sun damage, wrinkles, and skin discoloration
Vitamin C- A powerful antioxidant that neutralises free radicals
What are the benefits?
Improve the overall tone and texture of the skin
Brighter complexion
Reduce the appearance of sun damage and age spots
Soften fine lines and wrinkles and slow the ageing process
Reduce hyperpigmentation, melasma and acne scars
Improve active acne and reduce pore size
Stimulate collagen to firm skin
How many peels do I need?
This depends on what skin concern you are trying to address. When treating acne, scarring and pigmentation concerns you will usually require 3 or 4 peels, one month apart. The peel’s results can be prolonged by using TPP’s prescription and non-prescription skincare products.
How much will I peel?
This does vary but we know it is likely you will start to peel two days after the treatment and it will be mostly finished by day 7. The full effects of The Perfect Peel continue to work at the cellular levels even after peeling has subsided. For this reason we say that full results of the peel will be seen after 28 days, or a full cycle of cellular turnover.
Who is The Perfect Peel not suitable for?
Under 18s
Open or suspicious lesions
Moderate to severe eczema or psoriasis
Currently undergoing chemotherapy or radiotherapy
Pregnant or breastfeeding
Allergy to any of the ingredients or aspirin
How Long Does the Appointment Take?
Following a consultation appointment, the treatment appointment takes around 30 minutes, with application taking around 15 minutes. There are several steps for you to carry out at home, which will complete the treatment. Full instructions are given.
Does The Perfect Peel hurt?
The Perfect Peel has been described as the most comfortable peel on the market. This is partly because it is self-limiting, and partly because of the ingredient phenol. Phenol has a mild anaesthetic property, which makes each pass of the peel more comfortable.
What is the downtime following The Perfect Peel?
Immediately following the treatment, skin will be red. On Day 3 skin will begin to peel in large patches. Peeling will have finished by about day 6-7.
How often can I have The Perfect Peel?
The Perfect Peel may be applied initially every 4 weeks if necessary until the desired results are achieved. After, we recommend once every 3-4 months to maintain improved skin results, and prevent further aging and environmental damage
What do I need to do to prepare my skin for The Perfect Peel?
No specific preconditioning of the skin is required prior to treatment. We recommend stopping use of Retinol 2 weeks prior to the peel. In addition patients on roacctuane must stop use after 6 months prior to treatment in order to achieve desired results.
